Riverside FFA excels in West Tennessee

The Riverside FFA Chapter attended the West Tennessee FFA Awards Program on May 16, 2011 held in Dyersburg, Tennessee.  The West Tennessee FFA Awards Program recognizes the chapters and members that excel in career development, leadership, instruction, and supervised agricultural experience.  Riverside FFA received 21 awards during the event.  The chapter was placed third overall in the West Tennessee.  Also during the evening, Josh Eason was recognized as the West Tennessee Outstanding Young Teacher.  Josh Eason is the third agriculture teacher from the Riverside Agriculture Department to be recognized as an Outstanding Young Teacher.

 

 

 

 

Riverside FFA Chapter Attends State FFA Convention

Thirteen members of the Riverside FFA Chapter attended the 83rd State FFA Convention March 26 – 30, 2011, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  The chapter received the National Chapter Award and 100% Membership Award while at Convention.  Cody McCormic placed second in the state in the Agricultural Processing Proficiency Award.  Seth Boroughs, Ashley Goodman, and Jacob Shea received their State FFA Degree.  The State FFA Degree is the highest award that any state can bestow upon an FFA member.  The convention ended with excitement when Emily Keeton was recognized as the 2011-2012 Tennessee State FFA Reporter.
